Start of the InnoEscuela programme

InnoEscuela is an educational programme drawn up by teachers of Technology, led by the FundaciĆ³n Cotec and with support from the National Centre for Innovation and Educational Research within the Secretariat of State for Education, Vocational Training and Universities of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport (MECD). This programme aims to adopt a new structure and approach to this subject at every level of Compulsory Secondary Education (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th years) so that, while following the official curriculum, students can practice Value creation, Profit generation and Entrepreneurship.

Stages
InnoEscuela takes place throughout the school year in several stages: first, drawing up the idea; second, implementation; and third, promotion and protection of the innovative product by means of Industrial or Intellectual Property Rights. It is during this latter phase that InnoEscuela receives collaboration from the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO), which not only gave advice on how to draw up the modules on the ways in which ownership of an innovation can be linked to its authors, but also offers secondary school teachers of technology the possibility of requesting a session on Industrial or Intellectual Property Rights.

All the programme resources and materials are available on the Innoescuela platform, which allows both students and teachers to work interactively at each stage of the course. Access is via the website at www.innoescuela.org with a user name and password.
