New Technology Alerts

Two new Technology Alerts have recently been launched regarding Haematological Neoplasms and Nanodrugs. Previous alerts were on Fuel cells, Geothermal Energy, and Biocides and Organic Plant Growth Regulators.

The technology surveillance services that have been offered free of charge by the SPTO patent examiners since 2002 include the Technology Watch Bulletins, which are quarterly publications covering a selection of the world’s most relevant patents in 14 technology sectors, and the Technology Alerts, which are updated on a daily basis and refer to a specific technical topic.

What is a Technology Alert?
Technology Alerts provide updated information on the most recent patents published worldwide on a specific technical topic. The topics for each Alert are determined in collaboration with the Technology Platforms to meet the specific needs for information of businesses and public research bodies in the different technology sectors.

In this way, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) meets the commitment it entered in 2012 with these Platforms to provide businesses, researchers and R&D managers with information on patents to ensure that the technology they generate is of value, so that it will bring in financial returns and enhance business competitiveness and internationalisation.

Once a topic of interest has been determined, the patent examiners establish a search strategy to allow any user to consult the Alert to find the latest patents published anywhere in the world on the topic in question.
