New features in DesignView and TMView

DesignView and TMView, two search engines that allow industrial designs and trade marks to be located in the main Industrial Property offices, have been updated.

More images of Spanish designs
DesignView is a centralised point of access to information on registered drawings or models held by any of the national offices participating, all under a single presentation format, irrespective of the office they come from.

It is now possible, as from 1 January 2014, to see more images of Spanish designs on DesignView. There are now 254,278 images for a total of 137,656 industrial designs, models and drawings.

Moreover, the National Patent Office of the Lithuanian Republic and the Swedish Patent and Registration Office have now been included in this data base of designs registered in Europe, with Lithuania providing almost 3,000 designs and Sweden over 91,000.

Lithuania and Sweden have, therefore, now joined the offices of Portugal, Benelux, Estonia, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovakia and Slovenia. The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) also participates.

Russia and the USA in TMview
TMview is a free Internet tool that allows searches in data bases of trademarks currently registered in the main Intellectual Property offices.

Since 18 December 2013, trademarks from the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (ROSPATENT) and the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) have been available on this search tool.

With these new inclusions, there are now 34 offices participating in TMview. With over 400,000 Russian trademarks and 6.8 million from the USA, there are now over 20 million trademarks available on TMview.

Since TMview was created on 13 April 2010, it has received more than 5 million visits from 205 countries, with users from Spain, Germany and Italy being among the most frequent visitors.
