Service to provide support and guidance to businesses and entrepreneurs

The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) has set up a service providing face-to-face support and guidance for businesses and entrepreneurs. This initiative arose out of a clear vocation to offer a public service as part of institutional policy to assist entrepreneurs through public initiatives offering assistance and information, and with the aim of promoting a culture of entrepreneurship, in line with the recent approval of the Law to support Entrepreneurs and Business Internationalisation.

The main objective of this Service is to create awareness among businesses of the importance of protecting their intangible assets by means of patents, trademarks and designs. For this purpose, the SPTO has set aside a physical space in which businesses and entrepreneurs can receive information on the different types of Industrial Property and on the Technological Information services and data bases that are available to the general public. The Service will also offer information on other matters of importance for entrepreneurs such as State, regional and community aid and subsidies available for funding innovation projects.
