OEPM virtual round table: Women and girls in scienceOn February 11, the United Nations (UN) celebrates the "International Day of Women and Girls in Science". The objective of the UN to designate a day for this theme is to raise awareness and promote access and participation of women and girls in the field of science and technology. This day is a recognition of the key role played by women in the scientific and technological community. At the OEPM, we are fully aware of the importance of raising society's awareness so that women and girls have identical conditions of access and recognition in scientific-technological studies and professions. Therefore, we joined this celebration. In this sense, and taking advantage of the influence that the OEPM has in Spain for everything related to industrial property, an informative round table was held. At the round table, outstanding women in the field of research and innovation shared their experiences, serving as an example and motivation for society as a whole. It was highlighted the importance of building the leadership path of women in science, the encouragement for the next generations and how innovation, research and technological development place us in a better and safer world for everyone.
