Topographies of Semiconductor Products

Titles for the protection of Semiconductor Product Topographies are the most recent type of industrial property protection and they refer to integrated electronic circuits.

  • They are intended as a means of protecting the diagram of pathways of the different layers and elements making up an integrated circuit, their three-dimensional arrangement and their interconnections, which are the elements that constitute its "topography".

The duration of the protection is ten years, counting from the end of the year in which it the topography was first registered or used anywhere in the world.

See Law 3.11/1988, of 3 May on the legal protection of Semiconductor Product Topographies
