The community trademark affects the entire European Union.
The community trademark is a singular mark; it may only be applied for and, if appropriate, granted for the whole of the European Union.
Applications may be submitted directly to the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) ( http://www.oami.europa.eu), based in Alicante, in Avda. de Europa, 4, 03008 Alicante. Applications may also be submitted to the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (http://www.oepm.es), which is based in Madrid, Paseo de la Castellana, 75, 28046 Madrid. In these cases, the SPTO will forward the application to the OHIM, and a receipt and issuing fee will be applied (link to trademark fees).
