A preparing method of the nano-titanium and biological-sulfur-zinc-manganese mixture comprises: 1) adding the sulfur powder, the zinc sulfate, and the manganese sulfate into the 60-nm-ball polymerization titanium for dissolution, and placing the mixture in the sun for photodecomposition; 2) adding the microorganisms in the material 2 to the brown sugar water for enriching culturing for 3 d; and 3) putting the material obtained after the step 1 into a microorganism bucket obtained after enriching culturing in the step 2, adding the chitin for secondary fermentation for 7 d, and obtaining the nano-titanium and biological-sulfur-zinc-manganese mixture for the melon powdery mildew. The nano-titanium and biological-sulfur-zinc-manganese mixture is sprayed to the blade surfaces of melons, so that cell membranes of pathogens are broken, and 95% of the powdery mildew is effectively inhibited.

Swill-cooked dirty oil can be used as an additive of the insecticide, and an approach is provided for effective use of the swill-cooked dirty oil, so that the reuse of the swill-cooked dirty oil for cooking can be controlled.

A method for inhibiting methane production in the digestive tract of methanogenic Archaea (e.g., termites, other wood boring pests). The inhibiting of the critical biochemical pathways specific to the methanogenic Archaea is achieved by having the methanogenic Archaea ingest an anti-methanogenic compound. The anti-methanogenic compound may include, for example, naturally-occurring statins or derivatives thereof, linoleic acid or related compounds, essential oils, or some combination thereof. The naturally-occurring statins can be found in the red yeast rice extract or related biomass. As a result, the effectiveness of the methanogenic Archaea to produce methane is compromised, which subsequently results into the malfunctioning of the xylophages' digestive system. This provides a safe, natural, green and sustainable means of controlling many pests such as the Asian Beetle, Emerald Ash borer, Weevils, Deathwatch Caterpillars, and termites.

The method comprises: impregnating a first polymeric material with a hydrophilic agent to form a first mixture; impregnating a second polymeric material with a carrier, an absorptive agent and an antimicrobial volatile to form a second mixture; introducing the mixtures into a film blower; extruding a three layered membrane from the film blower; and placing the membrane proximate to the produce. The arrangement is such that moisture released from the produce due to respiration passes through the hydrophilic material toward the inner layer and is absorbed by the absorptive agent, increasing its temperature to activate the release of the antimicrobial volatile, thus preserving the produce.
