[Problem] The density of sea water is about 1,000 times of that of air, and 1 m per second of ocean current corresponds to 10 m per second of wind speed in terms of energy. However, sea areas having high-speed ocean currents suitable for such power generation are substantially limited. Japan has ocean current power generation using the Kuroshio Current, but the flow of the Kuroshio current meanders over time and does not necessarily continuously flow through a certain sea area. [Solution] The waterway of the present invention is used in a relatively shallow sea area having a stable ocean current and a water depth of about 100 m to accelerate the speed of the ocean current, thereby allowing an ocean current power generator to always carry out high-output, stable power generation. Therefore, the present invention is characterized in that walls are formed by spreading screens between a plurality of poles erected from the sea bed, the walls are arranged in two rows to construct a waterway, and wall-forming poles and poles in the direction facing the wall-forming poles are connected by cables.

Moveable barriers 14 on top of the base structure provide a head difference between upstream and downstream sides of the barrier.

The invention relates to a method and a system for adjusting the torque of a mass and spinning wheel rotator in a wave power plant. The torque of a rotator rotating around a vertical shaft is compensated partially or completely with a compensating moment which is produced by an electric machine. Acceleration components ( ACC x and ACC y) are measured for a given point of the wave power plant's floating body (1) in directions perpendicular to each other. A vector (Vxy) with a magnitude formula (A) and a direction (aAcc) is established for said acceleration components, the direction or angular position (a) of a rotator (2) is monitored and its lag (α LAG) from the acceleration vector's direction (αAcc) is determined. The compensating moment is adjusted as dependent on a compensation factor (B) whose sub-factors are the magnitude of the body's acceleration vector (Vxy) and the sine of the angle of lag (sin α LAG). This is supplemented with a compensation factor based on spinning wheel forces in a manner otherwise similar except that the acceleration must be replaced with a rotation speed (AVx-y) of the body's inclination, which is obtained from an inertial sensor 821), and the mass must be replaced with a gyro force which is dependent on the inertia and rotating speed of a spinning wheel.

The present invention describes a floating yawing spar buoy current/tidal turbine. The spar includes a spreader above the rotor(s) with the spreader tips connected to fore and aft cable yokes that transition to opposing mooring lines connected to anchors on the seabed. The spreader comprises a yaw motor, which drives gears that engage with a ring gear fixed to the outer perimeter of the spar. Flow direction sensors activate the yaw motor for automatic yaw adjustments of the spar turbine. As tidal direction changes, the entire spar and turbine are yawed to maintain the rotor plane facing the tidal flow. The bottom end of the spar extends to approximately the bottom sweep of the rotor plane and contains a winched vertical mooring line, extending to the seabed and attached to a gravity or suction pile anchor. The turbine drive train can be accessed for servicing from the surface via hatches and ladders within the spar to enter the drive train and generating system vessel. The spar turbine is deployed by towing it in a horizontal position. At the operating site, the yokes are connected to the forward and aft mooring lines and the winch line is connected to the gravity anchor. The winch inside the keel draws the bottom end of the spar down and may be assisted by flooding the keel to reach a vertical position for the spar. The winch is then locked to retain required operating depth, or can actively control operating depth in areas of wide tide level range.
