Dabei weist der Sensor ein Sensorelement auf, welches wenigstens teilweise direkt oder indirekt mit einer Vergussmasse bedeckt wird. Der Kern der Erfindung besteht dabei darin, dass die Vergussmasse, zum Beispiel ein Gel, ein Biozid enthält beziehungsweise auf der Vergussmasse eine Schicht aufgebracht ist, die ein Biozid enthält. Dabei kann die Vergussmasse auch derart ausgestaltet sein, dass sie in einer vorzugsweise der Umgebung zugeordneten Richtung eine erste Schicht mit einem erhöhten Biozid-Anteil aufweist, während in einer darunter liegenden, dem Sensorelement zugeordneten zweiten Schicht, kein oder nur ein geringer Anteil von Biozid vorhanden ist. Des Weiteren kann die Vergussmasse auch ohne Biozid ausgestattet sein, wenn eine der Vergussmasse räumlich benachbarte Komponente biozide Eigenschaften besitzt.
