Satisfaction surveys are one of the main tools for obtaining feedback from SPTO user

Quality at the SPTO

After the external audits carried out at the end of June, the certificates of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) were renewed in line with standards UNE-EN ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System) and UNE 166.066:2011 (Management of R&D+I, Technological Surveillance System and Competitive Intelligence).

These audits, performed by SGS ICS Ibérica, did not point out any non-compliance and the audit report states that the SPTO management system complies with all the standards and is able to meet the requirements of the service with regard to the organisation’s scope, objectives and policy.

These certificates are the result of the SPTO’s commitment to constant improvement and the provision of a quality service to users.

Satisfaction surveys
The SPTO has also published summary reports on the User Satisfaction Surveys it carried out in June 2016 regarding Inventions and Designs (National Patent, PCT, Utility Models, Designs and Licences and Patent and Model Transfers), Trademarks and the On-Duty Patent Examiner.

The results were analysed internally in the meetings for the review of the integrated Quality Management and Technological Surveillance System held in the month of June, and the conclusions reached were used to make improvements.

Satisfaction surveys are one of the main tools for obtaining feedback from SPTO users. They were key to the renovation of the Quality Management (ISO 9001:2008) and Technological Surveillance and Competitive Intelligence (UNE-EN 166.006:2011) certificates after the external audit carried out at the end of June.

The above-mentioned summary reports can be seen on the SPTO Quality Portal, together with historic data on surveys on inventions, designs and trademarks.
