An Industrial design gives the right holder the exclusive right (to use it and prevent others from using without the consent of the right holder ), on the appearance of the whole or a part of a product resulting from the features of, in particular, the lines, contours, colours, shape, texture and/or materials of the product itself and/or its ornamentation. Designs could be two-dimensional or three-dimensional.

The protection conferred by Industrial Designs has a duration of five years from the filing date and can be renewed for one or more consecutive five years periods to a maximun of twenty five years.
