Created through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2004. The basic objective of this Fund is to promote the knowledge and use of Industrial Property rights for the benefit of Ibero-American countries, placing special attention on their companies, in the interests of increased alignment and the reinforcement of legal security.

The most notable projects that have been and are funded by the FIT/ES include:

• CIBEPYME
• Regional Seminars: held annually, many of them in collaboration with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID)
• Ibero-American Case Law Database
• Regional Trademark and Patent Manuals
• Promotion of the Spanish language: translation of materials
