The differential output signal between the second reception coil (RX2) and the first reception coil (RX1) changes as the vehicle travels, and also changes depending on the irregularities and the metal type of the vehicle bottom portion (92) (in S4). The differential output signal may be represented in a system of orthogonal coordinates having axes corresponding to the reception level and the phase difference to produce a trajectory image, which differs from vehicle to vehicle, making it possible to determine each type of vehicle.
