New bulletin on monitoring electric car technology
In the last quarter significant developments have taken place related to the promotion of electric vehicles by the Government of Spain, as well as by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO).
Leaflet on informing patent granting eliminated
Since May 24, 2010, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office do not deliver in paper format the leaflet notifying patent granting (document B1 or B2) together with the Granting Title, as part of its new administrative and environmental policies.
Training materials for teaching Patents, 'Patent Kit'
In 2008, the 8th edition of the following roving workshop was held at the SPTO headquarters: 'Introduction to Industrial Property in University Curricula'. The purpose of this meeting was to highlight the importance of Industrial Property (IP) and its introduction into those curricula.
A strategic discussion has taken place in recent years among the 27 Member States, the Trademarks and Designs Registration Office based in Alicante (OHIM) and the European Commission on the coordination of the two sets of trademarks that are currently operating in the European Union -the Community Trademark system and national trademarks- with a view to future developments to the EU system.
In September 2009, the PCT Union Assembly adopted a series of modifications to the PCT Regulation which will come into effect next July 1, 2010.
