As usual, here are the monthly SPTO news, do not miss any detail because the new school year starts at full strength.

First of all, two quick questions: Would you like to join our team and work at the SPTO? Are you ready to study hard? We guarantee you that it is worth the effort. According to the recent public employment offer, published on the Official State Gazette num.184, 18 vacancies to become SPTO employee (Escala de Titulados Superiores de OOAA del MICT) were approved. One of them is reserved for disabled people. We will keep an eye on the corresponding call publication to offer you full particulars, so do not get distracted!

Going on with the SPTO news and bearing in mind that if you will be part of such an exclusive body you would like to be familiar with all its details, probably you would want to know that its Ministry dependence was recently changed (BOE num.188). According to the R.D. 998/2018, of August 3rd, on the basic structure of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (MICT, by its Spanish acronym), the Office depends on the aforesaid Ministry through the Under Secretariat for Industry, Trade and Tourism and its Principal holds the title of President of the SPTO. We are pleased to enhance the commitment with the industrial property world already demonstrated by the Ministry, as reflected on the article 1.1 of the aforesaid Royal Decree 'the Industrial Property promotion and defence are an essential part of the MICT politics, together with the general responsibilities on industrial and SMEs development, and on commercial and tourism politics'. This will allow our Office to develop its work with the maximum dedication and enthusiasm.
