The SPTO receives visitors from Spain and abroadRepresentatives of the Industrial and Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China (SIPO), the Korean Association for the Promotion of Inventions (KIPA) and the Korean Office for Industrial and Intellectual Property (KIPO) have visited the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office in recent months in order to find out more about how this independent body works and to share experiences. The Offices have bilateral PPH (Patent Prosecution Highway) agreements with the SPTO (PPH SPTO-CHINA, PPH SPTO-KOREA) to promote the sharing of information. This helps avoid the duplication of efforts and speeds up granting procedures resulting in a better service for patent applicants. Closer to home Students from the Colegio Loyola Salesianos de Aranjuez and on the Magister Lvcentinvs Master Course in Industrial and Intellectual Property were also welcomed at the SPTO, with the aim of bringing Industrial Property closer to students at the start of their careers and allowing them to get a first-hand view of the work done at the SPTO.
