Tribute to José Luis Bonet Ferrer

On 11 September 2014, a tribute was paid to the Chairman of the Freixenet group, José Luis Bonet Ferrer, in recognition of his excellent work on promoting and defending Industrial Property rights. The event, organised by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, was chaired by the Under-Secretary for Industry, Energy and Tourism, and many relevant figures from the world of IP were present.

Over the years, Bonet has proved to be committed to society and to the protection of intangible assets. This has been clear throughout his career, not only because he heads the important Freixenet Group but also because he leads and participates actively in other prestigious organisations. He was Chairman of the National Association for the Defence of Trademarks (Asociación Nacional para la Defensa de la Marca - ANDEMA) for 15 years, and currently chairs the Leading Brands of Spain Forum (Foro de Marcas Renombradas Españolas - FMRE).

“A brand is an essential mechanism for the functioning of the competitive system. It is the most valuable asset a company can have, condensing everything it does well with the prestige it has gained after years of effort”.
