Contest 'Emprende con Marca'

Importance of trademark protection

One more year, the ESIC Business & Marketing School with the support of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) invited the students from different degrees of the school to participate at the Awards 'Emprende con Marca ESIC-OEPM' ('Undertake with trademark ESIC-SPTO'). The contestants were asked to create attractive posters with original slogans about entrepreneurship and trademarks. The final goal of the contest is to raise public awareness of the importance that trademark protection has for entrepreneurs and SMEs.

This third edition broke the record with nothing less than 61 posters, from them a total of 19 made it to the final and 4 of them were awarded. The jury, made up of ESIC and SPTO members, highlighted the quality of all the pieces and particularly those finalists and winners. Their verdict, announced on November 30th, was the following:

  • First prize: Valentina Pérez, for her poster 'Águila' ('Eagle')
  • Second prize: Paula Pérez, Gonzalo Vega and Rubén Alguacil, for their poster 'Terror' ('Terror')
  • Third prize: Laura Pérez, for her poster 'Pareja bailando' ('Couple dancing')
  • Secondary award: Alicia Menor and Teresa Álvaro, for their poster 'Aspiras o te aspiran' ('Hoover or you will be hoovered')

From the SPTO we would like to congratulate all contestants for their great work and especially the four awarded. Thank you all for your participation. If you want to see all the pieces, they are available at the following link: http://www.oepm.es/en/CS_08_ConcursoCarteles_EmprendeMarca.html
