InnovaCción Awards

Recognition for Manufacturer Brands of the consumer goods sector

The association Promarca has organized this year the first edition of the 'InnovaCción Awards' in order to recognize those manufacturer brands of the consumer goods sector that contribute significantly to generate innovation, market growth, competitiveness, employment, and of course sustainability for the Spanish economy and society. These awards have been born with the will of becoming a reference among manufacturer brands, which represent a 7.4% of the Spanish GDP, employ more than a million people and export around 28,000 million euros, according to Promarca data.

The initiative has gathered professionals from this sector, journalists, institutions and leading members of the industry, furthermore it has been supported by the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Agricultures and various prominent entities such as FIAB, ANGED, ACES, ESADE Creápolis, IESE Business Schook and Kantar WorldPanel, whose representatives have made up the nine-member jury.

The awarded manufacturer brands in the six categories of the contest are:

  • Sustainable innovation: Danone for their 'Proyecto Lanjarón' ('Lanjarón Project')
  • Exports: Calidad Pascual for their products 'Yogur líquido Pascual en Brik natural azucarado 200 ml y Yogur líquido Pascual en Brik fresa 200 ml' ('Pascual Liquid Yogurt in Brick 200 ml', flavours: natural sweetened and strawberry)
  • Employment: Fundación Mahou San Miguel for their project 'Creamos Oportunidades en Hostelería' ('Creating Opportunities in Hospitality')
  • Best cooperation Manufacturer-Distributor: Danone and El Corte Inglés for the product 'Danone a Tu Gusto' ('Danone to your liking')
  • Best journalistic piece: Raquel Villaécija, an editor from El Mundo, for her article 'Nacer, crecer, reproducirse...¿y morir? Así son las estaciones de las marcas'. ('Born, grow up, breed … and die? Those are the stages of a trademark')
  • Innovation: Angulas Aguinaga for 'Aguinamar®'
