Administrative deadline calculator available to applicants and users of the SPTO

One of our missions is to help applicants for different industrial property titles. For this reason, from the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) we want to make available two calculation tools in excel format:

• one of them destined to the calculation of terms for all types of Industrial Property
• another for calculating the payment terms of annuities for Patents and Utility Models.

These deadline calculators, which have been developed internally at the SPTO, constitute a service for optional use that the SPTO wants to make available to its users, although the estimation is provided for informational purposes only, and its results are not legally binding. In any case, users are reminded that the legal deadlines will be those established by current regulations, and that these calculators are a support material that does not bind the SPTO in its relations with users and applicants.

Likewise, a link to an explanatory note on how to compute the administrative deadlines that have been resumed or restarted as of June 1, 2020 is attached. In this note, applicants and holders of industrial property rights can find the indications of how to account for the deadlines interrupted by Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, declaring the state of alarm for the management of the health crisis situation caused by COVID-19, regardless of the use or not of the calculation tools already reviewed.
