New series of comics: Maia and companyThe Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (SPTO) and the EOI Business School (EOI), within the framework of the Fernández Nóvoa Chair of innovation and industrial property for the year 2020, have produced a series of three educational comics called “Maia and Company”. The objective of these publications is to make known the importance of industrial property to kids and teenagers (9 to 12 years old). Maia Paspartú is a designer and through her group of friends, formed by Lara, Mateo, Jon and Zoe, will discover the world of trademarks, designs, and patents. Each character has their own dreams, opinions, tastes, skills and ways of seeing life, and they will live different situations that will make them aware of the role played by the different forms of industrial property. The first of this series of comics is dedicated to trademarks under the name “Mandaia - The creation of a trademark”. It aims to show and teach what trademarks are and what they are for, making aware that trademarks are everywhere and are not just the most famous. Hand in hand with Maia, these teenagers will discover too the importance for entrepreneurs to protect their products and differentiate themselves from competitors.
