Getting closer to meet the XI Promotion of Honorary Ambassadors of the ‘Marca España’Every two years the Leading Brands of Spain Forum (FMRE) awards the accreditation of Honorary Ambassadors of the ‘Marca España’ to those individuals or legal entities of Spanish nationality who have contributed significantly to the generation and strengthening of a positive image of Spain abroad. On October 17, the meeting of the jury that will grant the awards to the XI promotion took place at the Hotel Balneario de Vichy Catalán (in Caldes de Malavella, Girona). Among its members are the director general of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM, O.A.), Elisa Rodríguez Ortiz and the Undersecretary of Industry and Tourism, Pablo Garde. The accreditation ceremony will take place next year and, as in past editions, is expected to be presided over by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain. The award winners will be recognized in one of the following seven areas of activity: International Relations, Business Management, Social Action, Art and Culture, Tourism and Gastronomy, Sports, and Science and Innovation. Also, exceptionally, the jury may grant an extraordinary accreditation when circumstances of this nature or of great interest to the image of Spain concur. Paralympic athlete Teresa Perales and ACCIONA executive José Manuel Entrecanales were recognized with this distinction in the last edition. Previously, personalities of the stature of tennis player Rafael Nadal and artist Sara Baras and institutions such as ONCE and the Prado Museum have also been named Honorary Ambassadors of the ‘Marca España’. This initiative is a magnificent example of public-private collaboration, with the participation of public administrations such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation and the OEPM, O.A. itself, as well as companies such as Inditex, Repsol and Santander, among many other of Spain's most important companies. The FMRE assumes the mission of promoting the strategic importance of branding, innovation and design, as well as promoting the internationalization of the company as a key lever for improving the competitiveness of the Spanish economy. All this with the ultimate goal of enhancing the image of Spain and its companies as a whole through the joint efforts of leading Spanish brands and public administrations.
