SPTO Best Invention Awards are looking for candidatesTGood things are easy to get used to. That is why, almost without realizing it, we incorporate into our daily lives the technological advances that come onto the market to make our lives easier. After a short time, we have naturalized them to such an extent that it is as if they had always been with us. Sometimes, we would even find it difficult to imagine our lives without them. However, these inventions that appear in our lives and quickly become part of them, take a lot of time, work and effort on the part of the researchers who have developed them and made them possible. This great dedication often goes unnoticed. At the SPTO, we want to contribute to making visible the work of the researchers who, with their inventions, make our daily lives easier. And we want to reward them. This is the main raison d'être of the “Awards for the best inventions protected by Industrial Property rights”, which this year celebrates its IV Edition. Technological innovation, when properly protected, drives the economic development and competitiveness of our society. It is capable of transforming the world, bringing to the market and making accessible solutions to the problems we face on a daily basis. Hence, the importance of recognizing the work of people who dedicate their ingenuity and best efforts to research and who effectively protect their creations. The SPTO will reward, as on previous occasions, inventors who have protected their innovations through patents and utility models. Specific awards will be included for young people and women, in addition to the possibility of awarding special mentions for those candidates who, without reaching the level of recognition of the winning proposal, deserve a special valuation. Both the prizes and the special mentions will be accompanied by an economic endowment to help the researchers to continue developing their work. The deadline for the presentation of candidatures will remain open until March 17 and inventors of Spanish nationality or with legal residence in Spain who appear as such in a patent application or national utility model granted by the SPTO in 2023 may apply. So, if you are dedicated to innovation, don't miss the opportunity to see your effort and talent rewarded, sign up!
