Celebration of the 30th anniversary of the OEPM

This year 2022 we are celebrating! The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A., celebrates 30 years in its current name, since the approval of its creation in 1992.

Law 21/1992, of July 16, on Industry, in addition to modifying the functions and structure of the Board of Directors that regulated Law 17/1975, of May 2, on the creation of the autonomous body Registry of Industrial Property, replaced the name of the Industrial Property Registry by the current Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A.

The celebration of the OEPM's thirtieth anniversary falls within the framework of the OEPM's 2021-2024 Strategic Plan and will serve to take stock of the progress made by our Organization over the last thirty years in the field of innovation and industrial property, as well as continue with its mission in the present and in the future of promoting innovation and sharing its results as values ​​and assets of differentiation and technological development to remain at the forefront in providing quality services in the field of industrial property.

To celebrate these 30 years, we have registered a new logo that combines the silhouette of the building that houses the headquarters of the office with the emblematic colors of the institutional logo.

The creation of this new distinctive sign is one of the various activities that are being carried out throughout 2022 to commemorate these last three decades of the Spanish Patent Office
