Course on Administrative Management of Industrial Property (Paralegals)

The School of Industrial Organisation (Escuela de Organización Industrial – EOI) and the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office have organised the second edition of the Course on Administrative Management of Industrial Property (Paralegals), to be held in Madrid from April to September 2012. Registration is open.

The ‘Paralegals’ course offers participants the possibility of learning about the different types of protection (patents, utility models, designs and trade marks) in Spain, Europe and the rest of the world, from a theoretical point of view but with the focus on practical aspects. The teaching staff will include representatives of some of Spain’s most relevant companies who will provide their experience in protecting their intangible property. In addition, the most relevant international organisations in the field of Industrial Property will also be collaborating: The European Patent Office (EPO), the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Training will mostly address professionals in Industrial Property Agencies, the members of Industrial Property departments in companies, Industrial Liaison Offices from universities, technology parks, public research organisations, and in general, all professionals interested in the management of Industrial Property. This course forms part of the activities of the Fernández-Novoa Chair, which aims to promote an integrated system for training and information to facilitate the two-way transfer of knowledge between business and universities.
