News of the OEPM

During the month of June, the OEPM signed two agreements for collaboration with various national entities in order to promote knowledge on Industrial Property.

The agreement reached with the National Association for the defence of Trademarks (Asociación Nacional para la Defensa de la Marca – ANDEMA) aims to publicise the value of trademarks and of Industrial Property in general for companies as a key tool for helping reach the right decisions for competing internationally.

In addition, during the ePyme Congress, an agreement for collaboration was signed with Cevipyme,  between DGIPYME, OEPM and FUNDETEC. Cevipyme , the Virtual Centre for Support for SMEs, was created to provide SMEs and their associations with information and personalised, free assistance on the most appropriate options for protecting their Industrial Property, and on the most effective way of managing and gaining maximum advantage from such property once the appropriate rights have been obtained and registered. The aim is to make SMEs aware of the need to protect their inventions, trademarks and designs and thus to increase their capacity for innovation.
