The SPTO updates its  Automotive and Renewable Energy Reports

The Statistics and Research Department of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) has updated the Automotive and Renewable Energy Reports.

The Automotive Report covers the period 2006-2013, and the main applicants are Seat, S.A.(150), Honda Motor Co Ltd (50) and Grupo Antolin de Ingenieria, S.A. (25). This document also provides specific data on inventions relating to electrical vehicles, for which applications rose from three in 2006 to 22 in 2013.

The Renewable Energy Report reflects trends since 2000. This document distinguishes between published national inventions (patents and utility models) by residents in Spain and published applications for European patents originating in Spain. In Spain, wind and solar energy receive the largest number of applications, most of them made by companies, ahead of private persons and public bodies (including universities).
