Agreement for SPTO-EPO cooperation regarding Latin America

The President of the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Director General of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office have signed an agreement in Santander to promote quality and efficiency in the Latin American patent system, in order to benefit its users, notably European industry.

This agreement, which amounts to a continuation of the one signed in 2011, will allow the two offices to develop cooperation by creating synergies and setting up joint actions, improving the coordination of their activities in Latin America.
The agreement was signed during the SPTO Summer Course held at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), which focused this year, in its ninth edition, on the promotion of Industrial Property titles.
