Torres Quevedo Year at the SPTO



This year, the hundredth anniversary of the Spanish Aero Car at Niagara Falls, has been named Torres Quevedo Year in honour of its creator, Leonardo Torres Quevedo, a Spanish engineer and inventor whose inventions in many technical areas were ahead of their time. The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) is celebrating with a special section on its website. This provides information on the programme of exhibitions and events and links to commemorative videos and publications on this inventor, his inventions and his patents.

Exhibitions
The exhibition ‘Leonardo Torres Quevedo, Engineer and R&D Innovator more than 100 years ago’ opened on 8 August in Santander, Cantabria. Designed above all for young visitors, it will be open to the public at the Archivo Histórico Provincial, Calle Ruz de Alda 9, until 15 November.
