The collection for Spain of Google Patents includes 806,822 Patents granted and 604,221 applications published from 1827 to today

Improved worldwide access to documents on Spanish Patents

As of 30 August this year, Spanish Patents and Utility Models can be found on Google Patents.

The collection for Spain includes 806,822 Patents granted and 604,221 applications published from 1827 to today, with Bibliographic Data for 1827-2016 and full text on applications/grants from 2004 to today.

Google Patents was created almost ten years ago with the aim of improving access to patents. As of 30 August 2016, the patent collections of eleven more countries, including Spain, have been available, pushing the number of publications up to 41 million.

As with other patent publications, this new collection has been translated into English using Google Translate, so it is now possible to search for key words in English or in the original language.

With the recent inclusion of the Spanish documents, 87 million patent documents can now be consulted on Google Patents. They come from 17 countries/regions, including the USA, UK and the European Patent Office.

Inclusion of Spain in the EPO Federated Register
The Federated Register of Patents is a European Patent Office (EPO) service which offers one-step access to legal status information on European patents in the member countries where they were validated.
As of 1 September, the EPO provides legal information, coming directly from the SPTO in real time, on European patents validated in Spain. There is also a link to CEO, where external queries can be made on SPTO files.

The inclusion of this information has been made possible thanks to the plan for cooperation between the EPO and the SPTO.
