SPTO cooperates with spanish universities

Use of IP by research staff

The research work accomplished by spanish universities transforms them and their professionals into leaders of common progress. Without their praiseworthy effort and contribution to our society the gears that rule constant improvement would lack their basic pieces.

It is often claimed that what goes around comes around, for this reason the SPTO signed a collaboration agreement with the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRSU) at the end of last year. Besides there were different informative sessions and complementary actions with an educational aim.

Up till now we can declare that we have succeeded in encouraging the use of IP among the research staff of these instituitions. Some instances of it could be:

• There were an increase of 32% in the number of ITPs requested by universities.
• A new Technological Alert was created ("Monitoring and diabetes control technology"), as a result of our collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
• We received various requests for specific lectures, for example the speech about protection of biotechnological inventions that will take place soon at Salamanca University.

These splendid results encourage us to go on working along the same lines. We will keep you up to date about our new projects!
