Report of the Regional Training Course on Trademarks and IP Common AspectsAimed at trademark examiners from the Ibero-American Offices Human, historical, social, cultural, political, economic and linguistic ties have always made Ibero-America a priority in the Spanish foreign policy. In the last times, Latin America has experienced deep changes, the country has been modernized, its middle classes have grown, the integration and agreement projects have been multiplied… The aim of our bilateral relations is to promote political dialogue mechanisms, create and coordinate international bodies and explore economical opportunities to mutual benefit. In addition, Spain plays an essential role in EU policy towards Latin America. We are proud to say that the a style="color: #006bb0; text-decoration: underline" href="https://www.oepm.es/es/index.html" title="" target="_blank">SPTO has always been a pioneer in this kind of initiatives. A very good example of it is the ’Regional Training Course on Trademarks and IP Common Aspects’, one of the oldest and most satisfactory activities that we develop, aimed at trademark examiners from the Ibero-American Offices. The 2018 edition took place at the SPTO headquarters from February 12th to 16th with a highly remarkable participation, 16 representatives from 13 Ibero-American countries, what illustrates the importance of the event. Once again, the goal of the meeting was to provide a practical training to the working group members and create an ideal environment to exchange experiences and compare different examining proceedings that are currently being applied. We would like to thank all the attendees for their effort and enthusiasm, we invite you all to join us again next year.
