Closing of TRANSFIERE Forum historical edition, more than 4,500 registered visits

Cooperation and knowledge transfer between scientific world and business sector

As we mentioned on our January number, the 7th edition of TRANSFIERE was held at the FYCMA (Málaga) on February 14th and 15th. Its aim was no other than encouraging cooperation and knowledge transfer between scientific world and business sector. All actors of the innovative ecosystem, both public and private, participated at an event focused on networking and B2B meetings. The opening act was chaired by the President of the Junta de Andalucía, the State Secretary for Research, Development and Innovation and the mayor of Málaga.

The Forum has taken this year two interesting measures with the goal of achieving specific cooperation agreements: the inclusion of innovative business groups into the work ecosystem and the promotion of open innovation by means of technological challenges (in the case of reference firms) and market enquiries (in the case of public services).

Among the activities there were two that stood out because of their relevance. Firstly, the round table chaired by the SPTO entitled ‘Funding, licences and resources for the development in R&D market’. Secondly, the III ‘Transfiere Forum’ Journalism Prize in recognition of the journalistic spread on science, technology and innovation topics, which award ceremony took place at the Automobile Museum of Málaga. The winners were:

In addition, two works stood out because of their high quality, being finalists on the written category: 'La Nespresso que cultiva células', of Esther Paniagua, published at the El Mundo supplement and 'Copernicus. El mejor retrato y la cara más fea del Planeta Tierra’, of Carmen Serrano, published by Heraldo de Aragón.

The final assessment of the Forum cannot be better, the 2018 figures beat all records: 5,500 work meetings between representatives from business, academic and scientific-researcher sectors, more than 5,300 groups represented and 1,700 public and private entities. We expect to continue in this line in future editions. From the SPTO, who is proud of being part of the organising committee and the journalism award jury, apart from being promoter of the Forum, we would like to thank all attendees for their tireless work in the field of technological innovation. We are waiting for you all in the next edition!
