The SPTO in Figures 2017Overview of the current situation and analysis on the different evolutionary trends In previous numbers of our magazine (January, February and April) we went through the 2017 statistical data, both at national and international level, for the different IP modalities: Patents, Utility Models, Trademarks, Trade Names and Industrial Designs. Now we would like to present the interesting report ‘The SPTO in Figures 2017’ and the illustrative infographic ‘2017 SPTO figures at a glance’, recently published by the SPTO, to complete that information providing an overview of the current situation as well as an analysis on the different modalities evolutionary trends. The leaflet includes not just national data but also information about international applications of Spanish origin through the PCT system, Madrid system (international trademark) and the Hague system (international design), as well as regional applications of Spanish origin, European Patents, EU Trademarks and Community Designs. All this information was gathered from the databases of the SPTO, the European Patent Office (EPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The information included in these documents can be used freely, as long as the SPTO is mentioned as well as the source thereof. If you need more detailed analysis on the SPTO statistics we suggest you consult the Statistics section of our website.
