XIX Annual Meeting of Regional Industrial Property Information Centers

One more year, the Regional Centers held their traditional annual meeting. This XIX edition took place on November 7 in Extremadura, in the city of Cáceres. It was attended by representatives of the Autonomous Communities of Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Extremadura, Galicia, La Rioja, Murcia, the Basque Country and Valencia, as well as representatives of the SPTO.

During the meeting, inaugurated by the Counselor of the Ministry of Economy, Science and Digital Agenda, they were presented main novelties regarding both the SPTO and Industrial Property in general. Specifically, some aspects related to trademarks were analyzed, according to the modifications introduced in the Trademark Law. Details of the PCT processing were also explained, specifically the cases in which the SPTO acts as the Receiving Office and / or Search Office.

As usual, the meeting continued with an exchange of opinions and experiences, making each of the Regional Centers an analysis of their actions throughout the year, which undoubtedly serves as a basis to assess the activity carried out in each Autonomous Community in matters of Industrial Property.

On November 8, framed within the activities of the Chair of Innovation and Industrial Property "Carlos Fernández-Nóvoa", a workshop on Industrial Property took place at the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery Jesus Usón (CCMI).

Previously, all participants were able to visit the facilities of the CCMI during which the heads of the Center offered explanations on the activities carried out at the Center, a pioneer center in its field and a reference center at European level.
