The OEPM in the podium of the most innovative Industrial Property Offices in the worldThe Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (SPTO) has been valued as one of the most innovative Intellectual and Industrial Property Offices (IP) in the world. The World Trademark Review (WTR) magazine compiles the ranking of the most innovative IP Offices. This study tries to identify among 50 IP Offices around the world those that implement services with added value to users, and do not simply base their activity on the registration of intangible assets as such. The SPTO occupies the third place in this ranking together with the IP Offices of South Korea and the United Kingdom. This is the first year that the Singapore IP Office has achieved first place after launching new innovative initiatives. In this way, the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has been relegated to second place, after having topped the list in all previous editions. The IP offices that have been betting in recent years on the digitization of their services are the ones that are best adapting to the new situation caused by the global health emergency. These offices are demonstrating that they can continue to assist users of the system despite the challenge caused by the pandemic.
