Publication of the new report on "Technologies in the Automotive industry 2008-2019"Although the automotive industry has been affected by the global pandemic that we are suffering, it is still a leading field in Spain. Therefore, the Statistics and Studies service of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (OEPM) has recently published a new report on "Technologies in the Automotive industry 2008-2019". The study shows the evolutionary trends in inventions associated with the automotive industry that have been published as patents or utility models in Spain. The following groups have been considered: combustion propulsion, hybrid-electric propulsion, autonomous driving, automotive safety and an additional heterogeneous group that includes other technologies. It also includes lists of applicants with the highest number of published inventions both in relation to national applications and European patent applications of Spanish origin. From the study of patents associated with the Automotive industry, we can draw interesting conclusions, such as a greater awareness of society regarding the Environment, and the implementation of sustainable mobility policies, reflecting an upward trend in inventions related to automotive technologies. "Hybrid-electric propulsion" and "Autonomous vehicle", and a greater number of registrations of hybrid and electric vehicles.
