The 2021 Call for Subsidies for the promotion of patent and utility model applications is now open

The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (OEPM) continues to promote in 2021 the use of Industrial Property by Spanish companies as a tool for accessing international markets. For this purpose, on May 10, 2021, the OEPM published in the BOE the Resolution, which calls for the granting of subsidies in a competitive competition regime for the promotion of applications for patents and utility models in Spain and abroad.

News in trademarks: proof of use

The transposition of Directive 2015/2436 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of December 16, 2015, on the approximation of the laws of the Member States on trademarks, through RD-Law 23/2018, means the reform of Law 17/2001 on Trademarks.

The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (OEPM) has published the data and figures of patents, utility models, trademarks, trade names and designs related to the year 2020. In addition, this year the data on applications for Patents Technological Reports (ITP) are included for the first time, which is the non-free technological information service of the OEPM most demanded by applicants.

El pasado 4 de mayo, la Oficina Europea de Patentes (OEP) presentó los 15 finalistas al Premio Inventor Europeo 2021, galardón que anualmente se otorga a aquellos inventores que hayan contribuido de manera significativa a la innovación, la economía y la mejora de la vida diaria de la sociedad en Europa. Es un homenaje a la creatividad y a las habilidades técnicas de los innovadores y emprendedores, distinguiendo a los mejores inventores desde el año 2006 en un total de cinco categorías: industria, pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes), investigación, países no pertenecientes a la OEP y logros de toda una vida.
