One-day event to present the New Patent Law: Report and Sessions

On 8 June, a one-day event was held at the SPTO headquarters to present the New Law 24/2015 on Patents and its Regulations, which came into force on 1 April this year.

The event was a resounding success, with the room full to capacity, and the proceedings were live streamed on the internet. The day ended with the presentation of a copy of the new book with the complete text of the Law and its Regulations, now available for purchase by sending an e-mail to difusion@oepm.es.The book may also be consulted on the SPTO web site, by clicking on the tab Industrial Property-Publication-Monographs/Books.

The aim of this event was to give information about the new features of this change in the law, highlighting key factors and inviting debate on the uncertainties that may arise from them. Statistical data was also provided, to assess to which extent the change has affected patent and utility model applications up to now.
