Upcoming Courses on Industrial Property
7th Edition of the Course on Administrative Management of Industrial Property (Paralegals)
22nd May was the first day of the 7th edition of the Course on Administrative Management of Industrial Property (Paralegals) organised by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) and the Escuela de Organización Industrial (Spain’s School for Industrial Organisation) (EOI).
This course takes place in Madrid from May to October 2017 and is made up of 5 separate modules.
Applicants may register for each module separately and up to the starting date of each one.
The course addresses professionals from Industrial Property agencies, companies’ Industrial Property departments, Research Results Transfer Offices (OTRIs) in universities, technology parks, public research bodies (OPIs), etc. and, in general, all professionals interested in Industrial Property management.
The main targets of the course are:
- To offer participants both theoretical and practical training on Industrial Property, Inventions, Distinctive Signs and Designs.
- To give in-depth training on all the relevant aspects of Spanish protection systems.
- To provide on-going, structured training on international protection systems: European, PCT, USA, Chinese, etc.
- To promote the sharing of experiences among the different sectors involved in Spain and in other countries.
The course forms part of the activities of the Carlos Fernández-Novoa Chair on Innovation and Industrial Property (Cátedra de Innovación y Propiedad Industrial Carlos Fernández-Nóvoa), which aims to help build up an integrated system for training and information in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the business world and universities.

WIPO-UIMP Course: Patents, Trademarks, Designs: Challenges Ahead
From 10 to 14 July 2017 the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Santander will host the 12th edition of the Summer Course jointly organised by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and the UIMP.
On this occasion the subject will be: Patents, Trademarks, Designs: Challenges Ahead, and the same will consider the latest legislative news affecting industrial property both nationally and internationally.
Each year, this course is a strategic forum where National and European Industrial Property leaders meet.
It is aimed at students, SMEs, professionals and, in general, anyone who has an interest in approaching Industrial Property or wishes to dig into any of its aspects.
