Update of the fees of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A.

With the month of January a new year begins. For this reason, and in accordance with the provisions of article 66.1 of Law 22/2021, of December 28, on General State Budgets for the year 2022, the rates are raised, as of January 1, 2022.

Therefore, the novelty is that the amount of the fees of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office is increased by 1% as of January 1, 2022.

Holders of inventions are reminded that the amount of the annuity to be paid will be the amount in force on the due date of the corresponding annuity.

In the case of those annuities whose expiration date is 2021 or earlier, to make the payment it is necessary to select that year in the combo established for this purpose. On the same portal you can access to a file of instructions to make the payment correctly for the different annuities.

It is important to remember that in the case of payment by file, it is necessary to indicate the amount of the payment and the appropriate year of expiration.
