Support Center for SMEs for the Protection of Innovation "CEVIpyme"

The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (OEPM), the General Directorate of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises (DGIPYME) of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Spain have signed the collaboration agreement for another year to promote the Support Center for SMEs, CEVIpyme, in matters of Industrial and Intellectual Property Rights Management.

This new agreement, published in BOE No. 313 of December 30, 2021, and its Addendum published in BOE No. 13 of January 15, 2022, establish the collaboration framework between the three entities with the aim of promoting the strategic use of Industrial Property (IP) and carry out promotion, assistance and support activities for companies in IP matters, including the profitability of protected assets.

The CEVIPYME support center was created in 2009 with the aim of guiding and assisting Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as their associations, business groups and representative corporations, on the most appropriate type of industrial protection according to the sector and type of company and on the management of Industrial, Intellectual and Innovation Property rights, including information regarding financing and aid, start-up of business ideas, etc.

CEVIPYME has its own web portal www.cevipyme.es and a personalized information service on IP management through which SMEs and entrepreneurs can contact experts in the field by calling 91 3493398 or using a form and sending it by email.

As a novelty, during the validity of the last agreement, the service "Talk to a CEVIpyme expert" was launched so companies have the opportunity to contact and schedule a virtual meeting with an expert and thus obtain first-hand information on IP.
