New field in the INVENES database: Complementary Protection Certificate (CPC).

The INVENES database for inventions and designs in Spanish contains bibliographical data from documents on Spanish Patent and Utility Models going back to 1930, including European Patents and Patents applied for via PCT designated to Spain which generates a document in Spanish.

A new field has recently been included in this database: the Complementary Protection Certificate (CPC).

The CPC is an industrial property title which extends, up to a maximum period of five years, protection conferred by a patent to pharmaceutical and phytosanitary products once the patent has expired.

This new field, called CPC, contains the Complementary Protection Certificate for Patents to which it's been granted.

Searches can be carried out in it by using normal search options such as truncations and masks. This way, if we search C2005+/CPC, we'll find all patents that have been granted a certificate, and whose number begins with 2005.

Analogically, when bibliographical data on a patent is viewed for which a CPC has been granted, a new field will appear with the number of the certificate, as in the image:
