Agreements on Industrial Property: AIMEN, SERCOBE and GAMESA

As part of its policy to promote the use and integration of Industrial Property in the everyday management of Spanish businesses, the OEPM has signed a number of agreements for collaboration with various firms and business associations.

On 18 April, the Director General of the Spanish Patents and Trademark Office (OEPM) and the Managing Director of AIMEN (Asociación de Investigación Megalúrgica del Noroeste – Centro Tecnológico AIMEN) signed such an Agreement, and on 4 May another agreement was signed by the Under-Secretary for Industry, Energy and Tourism, the President of the OEPM and the Director General of SERCOBE (Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Bienes de Equipo).

These two associations will be participating in activities set up by the OEPM, amongst others, to make IP known amongst their staff. They will also be advertising the activity of the OEPM in any fora in which they participate and will cooperate in the drafting and dissemination of studies and reports on specific aspects of interest for Spanish businesses.

More effective protection
Finally, on 10 May the Under-Secretary for Industry, Energy and Tourism signed an Agreement with the General Manager of Human Capital Management at GAMESA. This organisation is the world leader in the design, manufacture, sale and maintenance of wind turbines. The Agreement should lead to greater knowledge about Industrial Property and how to integrate it in the company’s policies, thus creating more effective protection of the results of R&D+I.
