Search for Spanish inventions based on Google technology

Since 1986, the Spanish Patents and Trade Marks Office (OEPM) has been publishing applications for Spanish patents and utility models. This has allowed it to put together in a PDF version the full text of all applications for patents and utility models, as well as that of the patents granted and the translations of patents that are European but have effect in Spain. This is a high-quality collection and the information it offers is likely to be very useful.

GSA
The Google Search Appliance (GSA) is a device produced by Google that uses its algorithm to index contents as determined by an organization. The Spanish Patents and Trade Marks Office (OEPM) takes up the virtues of patent specifications to provide the public with a patent search service based on this technology.

In addition to the Boolean search offered by INVENES and by the tools of international organisations, our users may also carry out a ‘Googlean’ search for documents processed under the Patents Law, the so-called ‘GSA Invention Search’.

This indexed collection includes 60,000 applications for Spanish patents, 75,000 utility models and 320,000 translations of European patents. These 455,000 documents, which contain very important technological information, can be accessed by users via a query that is as easy-to-use, powerful and fast as Google. We thus also offer alternative tools to technology search engines, enhancing the added value of this important source of Technological Information in Spanish, namely, the patent documents published by the Spanish Patents and Trade Marks Office (OEPM).
