New President of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office
The Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria, chaired the session held on 17 November in which the new Undersecretary of Industry, Energy and Tourism, José María Jover Gómez-Ferrer, appointed by Royal Decree 1039/2015, of 13 November, took office to replace Enrique Hernández Bento, who had been appointed government representative in the Canaries.
According to the organisational structure of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO), an independent body attached to the Ministry, José María Jover Gómez-Ferrer will also hold the position of President of the Office (additional thirteenth clause of Act 17/2001 of 7 December on Trademarks).
