New IP supporting materials

Explanatory documents that will solve all your doubts

Technical terminology is a double-edged sword, it allows us to define every aspect of our professional activity but it is abstract for common user, who ignores its nuances. Who has never felt lost in the undecipherable jargon of a techie or a jurist? Industrial and intellectual property world is not an exception, but keep calm, the SPTO is resolved to make it more accessible each day. Today we would like to present the latest news on IP supporting materials, a series of explanatory documents that will solve all your doubts.

To begin with, we would like to recommend the new IP supporting video published by CEVIPYME and dedicated to Premo Group; a Spanish company focused on electronic component development, manufacturing and sales, specially for automotive, telecoms and industrial electronic sectors. Antonio Rojas, technological manager of the Group, explains on it his business experience in the context of the fourth industrial revolution (robotics, virtual reality, machine learning, big data…) and the importance of innovative-based component patents to achieve success in an increasingly competitive market. This video is part of a series that the Centre has been publishing to show the importance of trademark, industrial design and patent rights, using for this purpose the testimony of successful entrepreneurs who bet on IP. All these videos, dedicated to different Spanish companies such as Marset, Rolser, Simon or Uno de 50, are available at the entity website.

To go on with, we would like to talk about the IP leaflets, created by CEVIPYME to show the basic concepts on IP to SMEs, business associations and business representative corporations in a simple way. Its aim is to make them aware of the need of protecting their inventions, trademarks and designs and thus increase their innovative capacity. Up till now the following leaflets are available:

All of them can be consulted and downloaded at the CEVIPYME website and at the SPTO website, where the formative leaflets published by our Office can be also found.

To conclude with, we would like to share a happening that fills us with pride. In the Autumn 2017 the Czech Office of Industrial Property showed its interest on the game ‘Trademarks path’, developed by Andema and the SPTO. The game is based on Marcathlon: ‘Trademarks path’, a fun and formative event where trademarks, associations and institutions from various fields organise different activities to spread the importance that IP has on the Spanish economy and society. Recently, this Office has published its own board game about trademarks, available at their website. This collaboration is part of the cooperation policy with other IP national offices that the SPTO promotes and has led to countless initiatives.
