Summary of the most outstanding meetings in which the SPTO has taken part recently

‘Spring has sprung’ and this colourful season brings so many interesting fairs that it is hard to keep the time. Do not worry, here you can find a summary of the most outstanding meetings in which the SPTO has taken part recently.

Firstly, we would like to outline BIZ Barcelona Fair, organised by Fira Barcelona between May 30th and 31st. The fair counted on various thematic spaces, more than a hundred conferences and workshops and several advising areas. The SPTO shared a stand with CEVIPYME, the General Management of Industry and SMEs and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.

Secondly, the 77th edition of the Madrid Book Fair, from May 25th to June 10th. The SPTO took part in the fair for the second time, with a stand where was possible to purchase its latest IP related publications. These works, that can be found at our website, offer different points of view of the industrial protection system (such as legal, historical or technical), and approach this world to readers by identifying their most prominent personalities and those dates that can be considered as inflection points of its evolution. Among them we would like to underline the Spanish Golden Age patents and those of the prolific inventor Leonardo Torres Quevedo, historical documents highly enjoyed by the most curious visitors.

Last but not least, GENERA Fair, organised by IFEMA and IDAE, that was held between June 13th and 15th at IFEMA fairgrounds. At the fair, a reference meeting at renewable energies and energy efficiency, the most innovative proposals and the latest technological breakthroughs of this sector were exposed in an interesting programme of technical conferences. Every year the event becomes the perfect platform for companies of the renewable energies sector, a sector that has become strategic worldwide because it offers important opportunities for growth and employment. The SPTO attended the fair keeping a stand where we informed about our customer service, website and electronic office. In this forum, the Office also presented a paper about ‘Patents on Technologies for Climate Change’.
