New collaboration of the OEPM with the Judicial Documentation Center (CENDOJ)During the course on Industrial Property (IP) for Magistrates appointed by the General Council of the Judiciary, the new collaboration between the Judicial Documentation Center (CENDOJ) and the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (OEPM) was signed as a consequence of the Agreement of March 15, 2019 signed by both organizations. The course was inaugurated by Alejandra González Fernández, Director of the Department of Legal Coordination and International Relations of the OEPM, and by Luis Ignacio Vicuña de Nicolás, Director of CENDOJ. In their speeches, both expressed their wish that it continue in the future. The CENDOJ Documentary Fund is a restricted environment through which support is provided to the Judicial Career in the exercise of its jurisdictional function, making available more than seven million judicial decisions; of which approximately 380,000 are analyzed. Judges and Magistrates (both from Spain and the Principality of Andorra) have access to this tool, as well as Prosecutors, Lawyers from the Administration of Justice, the General State Attorney and the magistrates of the Constitutional Court. Thanks to this new collaboration, the OEPM joins this initiative by annually providing legal analyzes of the most important national judgments on IP. To date, the Documentary Fund already has already analyzed 50 of the OEPM corresponding to judgments from 2016, 2017, and 2018. In addition, on November 26, Arantxa Arsuaga Lecuona, Head of the Informatics Area and María José Aguirre Zuazo, Lawyer and Head of Section of the Jurisprudence Area, presented the content of this new tool to the Judges and Magistrates participating in the course. On the other hand, we highlight other collaborations of the CGPJ-CENDOJ, among them, and by way of example, the collaboration with the BOE, which facilitates the consolidated legislation to CENDOJ; with the RAE which makes its Legal Dictionary available, or with the State Bar, which provides the translations into Spanish of the decisions issued by the CJEU in which Spain has been a party. We hope that this new collaboration contributes to the knowledge of IP and the mutual enrichment of both organizations.
